Brothers Detmold

Charles Maurice and Edward Julius were twins, born in 1883. Charles killed himself 1908. Edward died 1957.

Paul Gustave Doré

6.1.1832 – 23.1.1883
a French artist, engraver, illustrator and sculptor

Gustave Dore is, to me at least, best known for his Bible and Dante illustrations. I love the graphic design of his images... as can be seen here: Paul Gustave Dore at Miscellaneous Pics

I didn't know of his color work until quite recently.

Sulamith Wülfing

11.1.1901 - 20.3.1989
Sulamith Wülfing was a German artist, a daughter of Theosophist parents.

"As a child Sulamith had visions of angels, fairies, gnomes, and nature spirits. She first began drawing these creatures at the age of four. The visions continued throughout her life, and directly inspired her paintings."

"During World War II, the industrial area around Wuppertal became a bombing target, and Wülfing's house was destroyed, along with many of her paintings."
